>>writersWORKSHOP...

writersBLOC...as well as being Halifax's main supplier of quality graffiti supplies, also run graffiti workshops held in our very own studios of which we are happy to say are one of the few workshop projects that have this facility. Held by experienced graffiti writers and artists (ALL OF WHOM HOLD A FULL AND UP TO DATE CRB CHECK) we aim to deliver all types of projects and workshops to various groups, schools and organizations throughout the community...
...the main focus of writersBLOC is to offer pupil referral units and schools the opportunity to come use our workshop and work alongside experienced graffiti writers and artists as part of a structured art class and as part of an after school recreational club...all students will be provided with all the tools required for each project, from pencils to spraypaint, sketchbooks to prepared 8x4ft boards to create their work of art, all safety equipment will be provided such as latex gloves, safety goggles and even though we are fully ventilated and equipped with extractor fans...vapour/dust masks are a necessity and must be worn whist painting in the studio, students are advised to dress in clothes suitable for the activity as the paint is hard to remove! The resident artists will work with the students from the design stage through to the finished product giving them advice, tips and showing them the professional techniques and tricks of the trade and answering any queries and questions, in an aim to give them the confidence in their abilities to create their own artwork in our premises.
Please note students will not be allowed to take the provided spraypaint away from the premises...Illegal graffiti is a crime and is punishable by law!
our aim at writersBLOC is to promote graffiti as a healthy art movement and to give the youth the chance to practice and learn about the movement in a fun, friendly and above all safe environment.
